The tournament began today, with defending champion Scottie Scheffler leading a star-studded field. Canadian golfers had mixed performances in the first round: Corey Conners impressed with a solid start, finishing under par and positioning himself well on the leaderboard. Nick Taylor and Taylor Pendrith faced challenges on the course, ending their rounds over par. Mike Weir, a Masters legend, showed resilience but struggled to keep pace with the younger competitors. The stage is set for an exciting weekend as players, including these Canadians, vie for the green jacket.
Justin Rose is currently 3 strokes up with a well played -7 first round with Conners, Scheffler and Aberg only 3 shots behind. Rory started the day pretty strong but faltered late to drop back to even on the day.
Sorry for the delay on the post, and might be a bit of a delay tomorrow as our member who puts this together will actually be in attendance! Lucky guy… we swear he didn’t take the pool money to pay for it 😉
